The inaugural roster for the Pittsburgh Hotspurs (WPSL) Women’s First Team is starting to form with the signing of goalkeeper Jess Neill – a member of the 2019 Keystone Division All-Conference team.

This will be Neill’s third season with Coach Tom (Tommo) Ovenden and Jordan Daloisio (GM) after competing with Steel City FC in 2018 and 2019.

“The best thing about Jess is she loves football and just can’t get enough,” said Coach Tommo.

“Jess understands our game model and provides us the ability to play out of the back.”

Prior to Steel City, Neill attended and played at Seton Hill (D2, PSAC), where she appeared in 57 games, allowing 64 goals for a 1.14 GAA, while recording 17 shutouts. She was a First Team All-Region and Second Team All-PSAC her senior year (fall 2018) and a CoSIDA Academic All-District x3 (2016, 2017, 2018).

“I am very excited to continue to play for Pittsburgh’s WPSL team simply because I love the game of soccer and being surrounded by other young women who share the same passion,” shared Neill, a Zelienople and Seneca Valley HS native.

“Having the support of the Hotspurs organization is a tremendous step for women’s soccer in the area. Over the past two seasons we have slowly built up the program and this year I fully expect to be one of the top teams in our conference. I can’t wait to see what the season has in store!”

The Women’s First Team home opener is on Saturday, May 16th, 2020, at Founders Field (Cheswick).
