Steel City's Metro site was founded in 2001 as Arsenal FC of Pittsburgh and attracts committed and talented players by delivering a quality program created and executed by licensed and experienced coaches. They are under the direction of Jonathan Velotta.

Calling No Offseason (Russellton) and The Neighborhood Academy (East Liberty) home, Arsenal FC of Pittsburgh has earned 22 state championships.

The Metro site offers training opportunities to players from 3 years old through adults with the Steel City First Teams (competing in the NPSL (Men) and UWS (Women) playing their summer season at Founders field.

Steel City Fitness & Performance Center

Located at No Offseason, the Fitness and Performance Center is utilized for our U15+ players for a dedicated off-field training session each week, small group training for players of all ages.

And a Fitness Center open to the public.

Tykes (Ages 3-5)

The Tykes program is an introduction to soccer for 3-5 year old players!

The 1 hour sessions are designed for child development while teaching the basic motor skills required to play the game.

Tykes will learn and practice:

Motor Skills - Balance, running, jumping, kicking, changing direction

Social Skills - Teamwork, listening, patience, sportsmanship, competing

Soccer skills - Body control, ball mastery, dribbling, ball striking

All players grouped based on age & ability. Parents may remain with their child throughout the session.

Academic skills - Colors, counting, direction, body parts

Futures (Ages 6-8)

The Futures program is an introduction to our club, designed to bridge the gap between community and competitive soccer.

We understand that at the youngest ages, making the jump to our full Academy system is a big step.

Training: 1x per week + 1 match on Saturdays

Curriculum: Ball mastery, ball striking, small-sided games.

Social: Making soccer fun with players expressing themselves.

Repetition: Hundreds of touches and actions within each session.

Players can join at any point in the year. Just curious? Come for one session to see for yourself.
