Players in the Youth Development Phase will now build on the technical skills learned throughout the Foundation Phase, whilst the tactical concepts are layered and applied in the full-sided game.
Across the 2 years in this phase, players work through a curriculum with their site teams, while enter into larger pool (birth year) training sessions. The regional pools and training expose players to greater opportunities to compete and grow to their highest potential while working with players and coaches from all Steel City sites.
All teams will be encouraged to play an attractive brand of soccer, with a good balance of organization and discipline, mixed with creativity and flair.
The overall aim of the Youth Development Phase is to help our players acquire the technical ability, tactical knowledge, and personal skills needed as they enter into regional and national level competition and, the Performance/College Prep Phase at the end of the 2 year cycle.
