With the start of the 2020/21 season, the Hotspurs North site has put the pieces in place to support a full girls program.

The site, lead by Troy Mohney, has named Blair Gantz as the leader of the girl’s program. Gantz comes to the program with over 20 years of combined coaching experience between college, high school, and club soccer.

“Blair has developed top players in the Butler area over the years,’ said Mohney. “We were looking to grow our girls’ program and now joining with Blair, believe this will position us ahead of schedule at the quality of players coming into the program and the increased level of training for our girls.”

Hotspurs North had U8-U12 girls entering the academy training program this spring prior to the pandemic shut down following a successful winter Development Center program at Family Sports Center.

“Over the past few weeks, chatting with Troy, I am confident we’ll have a strong program for girls coming through the Hotspurs North site,” said Gantz. “We’re identifying and working with coaches to ensure each is in the best Phase within the program to ensure our players have the best guidance for longterm development.”

“I’m excited to continue to work with some great coaches that I’ve worked with before, and now work alongside the entire Hotspurs coaching staff to raise the level of soccer in the Pittsburgh area.”

Tryouts for Hotspurs North are tentative pending all government-issued safety guidelines. More info can be found here.
