We're the first club in Pittsburgh with a full pathway from youth to adult for both men's and women's soccer.
And we don't take that lightly.
Together, we are committed to teaching a sustainable, attractive style of soccer that fosters good long-term habits from an early age and yields consistent results in later years.
We empower players to express themselves by encouraging positive attacking play, providing tools for defensive solidity and instilling comfort with team tactical concepts.
What makes us different?
Our pathway and process speaks for itself.
From the Steel City FC Academy to the MLS.
Michael Sullivan trusted the Steel City process. Arriving as a youth player, he trained, competed, and evolved with us, becoming captain of our conference-winning Men's First Team.
His hard work and belief in the process led to him signing professionally for Toronto FC in the MLS. In his first season, he captained Toronto FC II of the MLS Next Pro.
We don't just talk development, we deliver it.
Koven Johnson joined our club in the Foundation Phase (U9-U12) and trusted the process all the way through the Performance Phase, leading the 2006 boys to historic firsts for the club.
His drive led to him joining Barca Academy in Arizona, followed by High Point University. Following his sophomore season, he was drafted by the Colorado Rapids of MLS.
